This week, FC Barcelona defeated Getafe & Villareal to secure 6 points in the race for La Liga. Messi and Griezmann stepped up and scored some wonderful goals while Madrid drew Betis. We discuss the play during Villareal and what was lacking in the second half. Lastly, we look forward for May 8th (Adam's Birthday), at the Camp Nou, where Barca will take on Atletico Madrid to secure another trophy.

The Barca Breakdown discusses the Super League and how FC Barcelona joined this now suspended endeavor. We discuss Laporta's position, Florentino Perez' comments, Pep Guardiola's comments, and how Man City, Real Madrid, Manchester United, Liverpool, Arsenal and more have now begun to jump ship from the Champions League replacement, the Super League. Unfortunately, we never heard from Lionel Messi, but it seems clear that FC Barcelona was not going to officially join the Super League without a vote from the Socios of the club. We also discuss the pros and cons of the Super League, and how there may need to be adjustments to the Champions League to make it better. Many fans were opposed to the Super League as it had permanent members that had no chance of being relegated from the League, while also leaving little room for "smaller" clubs like West Ham, Leicester, Sevilla, Valencia etc. to try and aspire for European competition.

With a spectacular second half, FC Barcelona take their first trophy in two years under the direction of Ronald Koeman. The savior of the Copa, Mr. Antoine Griezmann, broke the lines with his goal in the 60' from a bulls-eye pass from Frenkie De Jong. From then on, Bilbao struggle to keep Barca out of the net. This Copa victory leaves Barca with an adrenaline rush to fight for the La Liga Title.

FC Barcelona drop 3 points in a huge loss against Real Madrid. El Clasico proves to be difficult once again as Barca lose the second leg. Koeman's weakness is visible in the first half against Zidane's tactics. Despite a huge goal from Mingueza, it was not enough to create enough fire for a comeback. Barca now sit 3rd on the table, 1 point below Atleico and Madrid.

Leo Messi looked rusty coming from the international break as Ousmane Dembele saved the day with a late goal. Valladolid came out and almost scored in the first ten minutes, but a great defensive game from Lengelet helped stop their attack. Griezmann was unable to convert on a header in the second half, and was soon replaced by Braithwaite. A red card on Jordi Alba helped reduce Valladolid to 10 men, leading to the great Dembele goal in the 89th minute.

The team put on a dazzling display, with Dest and Messi scoring twice, and Dembele and Griezmann both scoring a goal as well. Real Sociedad came into this game 5th and La Liga, and rivals Atletico and Real Madrid had both won their games for this round of the league. Inspired by a brilliant performance from Alba and Dest in particular, Barca finally look to have a young squad that is constantly improving throughout the season.
