The Barca Breakdown discussed another loss in the 2021/2022 season which resulted in the sacking of Ronald Koeman as manager. This comes after a loss away against Rayo Vallecano in which a fatal mistake by Busquests led to their demise. The team looked disheveled, disorientated, and disorganized. The only positive outlook was that Nico looked wonderful. In the end, Koeman, again, blames the players and takes no accountability or recognition that he needed to improve. It was clear with the loss of Messi, many problems came to light and Koeman was not able to adjust. Soon after the result, FC Barcelona released an official statement saying Koeman had been relieved of his duties. The Culers rejoiced! Finally Laporta made the financial decision to sack Koeman despite a 12 Million Euro payout. There is definitely more money to be lost if Barca do not continue through the Champions League and stay in a higher spot in La liga. In even more important news, Xavi is again linked to replace Koeman. Nothing is official as of yet, but the only reports for a replacement are circulating around Xavi. This poses a few questions: Why was Koeman not fired earlier? Will Xavi have the authority to bench senior players (Busquets, Roberto, Pique) when they are not performing well? Aren't we just putting Xavi into the same coaching situation, a club legend, in the same position as Koeman. Please like, comment and subscribe to our channel!
